God has gone through extraordinary effort to dwell with us. He longs to forgive, cleanse, guide, provide, hear from, and lead us. He wants to commune and fellowship with us, his people. But he will not force us, we have to let him.

An old proverb states, “Three things once released will not return again: an opportunity neglected, an arrow released from its bow, and a word spoken in haste.” Words can cause great injury. His design is that words give grace and are to build up the individual as needed. We must be careful with our words.

John MacArthur states, “No doctrine is more despised by the natural mind than the truth that God is absolutely sovereign. Human pride loathes the suggestion that God orders everything, controls everything, rules over everything. The carnal mind, burning with enmity against God, abhors the biblical teaching that nothing comes to pass except according to His eternal decrees. Most of all, the flesh hates the notion that salvation is entirely God’s work. If God chose who would be saved, and if His choice was settled before the foundation of the world, then believers deserve no credit for their salvation.”  God is sovereign in His… (listen on).

The Good Shepherd gave His life for His sheep. He calls them and they respond to His voice.  Yet in this dispensation of the church age, He has placed Under-shepherds to fulfill His plan.  He tells the pastors to shepherd the sheep.
